Oleg Troyanovsky spent his childhood in Geneva, in a family of Russian scientists who worked for the United Nations (UN). He later studied music and composition at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
Oleg Troyanovsky has written soundtracks for more than 40 films and television programs and contributed various music for virtual reality projects and sound art installations. In 2015 he received the Prix Italia and Prix Europa for the radio projects Encrypted in Music and Musical Observatory.
In 2020, Oleg Troyanovsky was selected by J.J. Abrams, J. Nolan and L. Joy as one of six finalists among over 11,000 participating composers from around the world in the HBO WestWorld Scoring Competition.
