Andreas Graf, Solocello
Born in Basel, Switzerland, the cellist hails from a family deeply rooted in both medicine and music. As a chamber musician, Graf is a member of several ensembles, including the Alexandre Dubach Quartet, Trio Maare, Lunaare Piano Quintet, and Duo Graf-Grandy. He frequently collaborates with his cousins Elena Graf, concertmaster at the Stuttgart State Opera, and Emanuel Graf, principal cellist at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. Praised by the music press as a “great musical talent,” Graf has received the Cultural Promotion Prize from the city of Thun. His work includes numerous CD and radio recordings, as well as performances at international music festivals. In addition to his musical achievements, Graf is also an accomplished filmmaker, with his short comedy The Laws of Attraction (2015) winning the Silver Award at the California Film Awards.
